Being a busy mommy to almost 1 yr old twins Bristol & Braydon and my 3 yr old son Evan, time management is key to my day. Just being able to take a shower and brush my teeth in the morning has to be a planned event. Good thing I am organized or I fear my hygiene may be compromised. My day usually starts early at around 4am that is usually when the twins one or the other wakes up and wants a morning bottle. So I run downstairs make two and give either Bristol or Braydon there bottle and change there cloth diapers. Now usually if one twin is still sleeping I will just wake them up also. That way that saves me having to go back into the room an hour later to feed the other one. By 7am Braydon usually wakes up, I know this as he likes to babble and talk in his crib in the morning while his sister prefers to sleep in till around 8am. So Braydon gets some mommy alone time with me which I am sure he loves.
By 8:30 both babies are up and I proceed to take them into the kitchen to feed them breakfast. Now that they both prefer to eat adult food I usually feed them oatmeal mixed with some kind of fruit. After breakfast its play time, till roughly around 10am. By this time they both are cranky and ready for there morning nap. So I change there cloth diapers and lay them in there cribs with there bottles.
Now this is my golden hour. While they take there morning nap I usually start a load of diaper laundry and jump in the shower. This is why I say my showers are a planned event. If I do not act fast while the twins take there morning nap then I usually don't get in a shower till my hubby comes home from work. The twins will usually sleep till around 12:30pm, then wake for lunch. By the time they are awake I usually already have eaten lunch myself an have there lunch downstairs waiting for them.
If anything having twins is a great way to loose weight, as just the fact that I have to go up and down the stairs around 20 times a day is a good workout. I mean who needs the gym after my day! After the babies eat lunch it is again play time. Since my Lil crawlers are fastly turning into walkers they have me going in two separate directions. My Lil girl seems to be the more aggressive child, constantly stealing her brother toys from him and making him cry, while he just wants to be left alone to that he can enjoy his own toys without be threatening of them being taken away.
By 2:30pm they are ready to go back down for there afternoon nap, now while they are napping I usually am prepping for what I am going to make for dinner for my family and finishing up the laundry for the day. The twins usually wake from there afternoon nap around 4 I let them play till around 5:30pm, if I feed them to early I have learned through trial and error that they seem to wake up more then if i just feed them a little later.
After dinner it's a bath then bottle and bedtime. We love the 3 B' s in our house. By 8pm the twins are usually fast asleep and my 3 yr old is usually hanging out on the couch with us. For me I finish doing dishes from dinner and try to finish any of the laundry that still needs to be folded and put away. By 10pm I am exhausted and ready for bed myself. All to start another busy day tomorrow.......
Awesome. Look forward to reading your updates. Oh and just an idea if you miss your golden opportunity to shower while they are asleep you could always pull a play pen near by and put them inside to play while you shower. I use to do that all the time ;) Good luck with your blogging :)
